Gambia suffers from high unemployment. Providing work, preferably for the long term is essential. Compounds with no people earning an income, usually don’t send their children to school. Health is poorer because of lack of food.
- The foundation has helped on a small scale by:
- providing a fridge and a table to sell fresh fish for a mother who wanted to start a small business
- providing a donkey and cart to start a small business
- sponsoring some months of labor for a start-up farm until it provides crops
- sponsoring an education to become a hairdresser
- sponsoring an education to become a plumber
- build wells
